🎁 This one's on us — thank you for being our first! Welcome to BlogHost!

Welcome to BlogHost
Let's set up your private journal in a few quick steps. Your family will be reading along before you know it.
📖
Tell Your Story
These two lines appear at the top of your journal and introduce it to your family.
💡 Mac: Cmd+Ctrl+Space · Windows: Win+. (period) · New emoji replaces old one automatically
🖼️
Add Your Banner Photo
This wide image appears at the top of every page. A landscape photo works beautifully — your home, a travel shot, or anything that feels like "you".
Looking good! You can change this anytime from your Admin Panel.
🔐
Create Your Password
This password protects your journal's admin settings. Save it somewhere safe — your password manager is perfect.
✗ At least 8 characters
✗ One uppercase letter (A-Z)
✗ One lowercase letter (a-z)
✗ One number (0-9)
✗ One special character (!@#$%^&*)
✗ Passwords match
💡 This is also the password for your journal's advanced settings at your-journal.bloghost.co/wp-admin

Who's Following Along?
Add your family members' names and phone numbers. They'll get a text message every time you publish a new entry — no app needed, just a tap on a link.
They can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. You can manage this list anytime from your Admin Panel.
📱
Get Instant Notifications
Know the moment your family reads a post or leaves a comment — even from the other side of the world. This uses an app called Pushover — free for 30 days, so you can try it before deciding if it's worth keeping.
How it works — you'll move between 3 places:
PHONEDownload Pushover from the App Store or Google Play — free to try, no card needed
PUSHOVER.NETCreate a free account (skip this if you already have one)
PUSHOVER APPTap Log In (not "Create Account" if you already made one) with that same email
HERECopy your User Key from the Pushover dashboard, paste it below
After 30 days, if you're enjoying it, Pushover will send you a reminder — a one-time $5 payment (to Pushover, not BlogHost) keeps them coming for good.
💡 If you skip this, you can add your Pushover key later from your Admin Panel → SMS Notifications section.

A few things to know:
• Changes here can affect how your journal looks and works
• BlogHost support does not cover changes made directly in WordPress
• A safety backup has been created automatically
A restore link will be emailed to you. Check your spam folder and mark it "Not Spam" for future delivery.

▶ Image Sizes
The sizes offered when you add a photo to a post, as a percent of the page width, so a photo looks in proportion on a phone, a tablet and a computer. Changing these only affects photos you add from now on — photos already in your posts keep the size they have.
Upload your header banner image from your computer. Once saved it persists through all future theme updates. Recommended size: 1440×200px wide landscape photo.
✅ Current banner image — saved permanently
No file chosen
Make the banner taller or shorter — your picture is cropped from the middle, never stretched. Type a number or use the arrows (10 at a time). Changes show right away; press Save to keep them. Phones follow this number automatically at a smaller size, shown beside the box.

Restore a Previous Backup
Your posts and comments are never affected — only appearance settings and theme files.
▶ Backup Journal
Download a Copy of Your Journal
Get a copy of everything — every post, every comment, every photo — as a single file you can open right in your own browser, no BlogHost login needed. Yours to keep, whenever you want it.
It's a good idea before a big change, like starting a new journal, since your current posts, comments, and photos don't carry over to a new one.
▶ Start a New Journal
Reuse Your Subscription for a New Journal
Going on another trip, or starting a new chapter? We'll set up a brand-new journal under your existing subscription — no new charge. Your password stays the same on the new journal.
⚠️ This can't be undone, and your new journal starts empty. Your current posts, comments, and photos stay only on this address — they don't carry over automatically. Your current address will always redirect visitors to your new journal, but it can never be used again — not even by you, later on. Make sure the new name below is the one you actually want to keep.
Submitting this sends your request through — we'll get your new journal set up and follow up once it's ready.
